Welcome to my homepage, which aims to present my latest publications and other news from my scholarly work.

I am positioned as an Associate Professor at the Lund Institute of Economic Research, Lund University School of Economics and Management. I am also a Visiting Scholar at Stockholm University (at a department called Score).

My research interest extends over four areas:

1. Performance audit at Supreme Audit Institutions (SAIs). This includes issues relating to organisation and leadership at SAIs.
2. Public sector reform and public governance, with a special focus on central government.
3. Mergers and acquisitions, in particular in a public sector context.
4. Research policy and the governance of clinical medical research at Swedish university hospitals.

 

I earned my PhD in 2008 and during the past years, I have been involved in a number of different research projects. In particular, I have continued to study how the Swedish National Audit Office (SNAO) has developed. This line of research reaches back to year 2002, making me the most experienced Swedish researcher in this area. Findings from my research on the SNAO were reported in my dissertation (2008), in a Swedish book (2013) and they will also be explored in a forthcoming book at Routledge, expected 2015/2016. The latter book includes comparisons of Supreme Audit Institutions around the world, in particular those of the United Kingdom, the United States and Sweden. This is written together with dr Jeremy Lonsdale at the UK NAO.

I have studied the Swedish Social Insurance Agency and health care management.

My research has been published in, for example, International Journal of Public Administration, Financial Accountability & Management, and European Political Science Review. My list of publications can be found under "Forskning".

Apart from these engagements, I have various assignments in advisory boards, grading committees, etc.
